NOSHEHEORIT

(2017)

Nosheheorit is inspired by Dariah’s personality, a male Lengger dancer from Banyumas, Central Java, Indonesia. The focus of the idea is on the melted process of masculinity and feminity on Dariah’s body.

In the journey of finding the personality, Dariah got into internal conflict, when the reality of two mainstream personalities between masculine and feminine living in his body. Recently, on his last struggle, Dariah performs his body practice as he chooses to keep both masculine and feminine personality on his body’s performance. In this work, Tasman reconstructs the conflict that existed in Dariah’s body into three parts. The first is the sensuality and visualization of a male character. The second is the representation of female exoticism. The third is the melting form of masculine and feminine personality, then it expresses a mixture of gestures as the aesthetic experiences by the duality which transform to become one (nyawiji).
